From Cambodia to Alaska

We’ve a story to tell to the nations,
That shall turn their hearts to the right,
A story of truth and mercy,
A story of peace and light,
A story of peace and light.
For the darkness shall turn to dawning,
And the dawning to noonday bright;
And Christ’s great kingdom shall come to earth,
The kingdom of love and light.

Attending Good News Baptist Church yesterday, just a mile from Christi’s home in Chesapeake, Virginia, we heard the amazingly good news that in Memot, Cambodia eight Christians were baptized and a new church chartered. It was in 2007 that I first visited the tiny village of Memot situated along the Vietnam border in support of Vuthuoen, the brother of my Christian Khmer language teacher, Vutha. There, we had delivered food, tracts and Bibles to the young teacher, shared the Gospel message and prayed with a few who were interested, before returning to Phnom Penh where we were members of International Baptist Church under the servant leadership of Dr. Tom Johnson. Around the corner and around the world, God’s children serve as bridges of light. Some plant, some water, and some reap a harvest that the Kingdom of love and light shines bright!
